The Netherlands became the 18th country in ratifying ILO Forced Labour Protocol.
The Protocol, adopted in 2014 by the International Labour Conference, supplements ILO Convention No. 29, which was signed in 1930 and aims to eradicate forced labor definitively. It requires Governments to take effective measures to prevent forced labor in all its forms, including human trafficking, as well as to protect victims and ensure access to legal action and compensation.
The 50 for Freedom campaign''s goal is to persuade at least 50 countries to ratify the Protocol on Forced Labour by 2018.
